The last update where we introduced edge-to-edge support for Android 15 and higher had a couple of problems that we’ve now addressed in today’s new version.
Fixed:
- Some parts of the screen could be blocked by Android navigation bar:
- Collection tab-bar on startup
- All/Action buttons (when selecting series in the main screen)
- Add button when checkboxing multiple issues to add
Today’s update is all about improvements to the screens for dealing with “unrecognized barcodes”. The main thing being the new option to report unrecognized barcodes for movie box sets (and which movies are in them!).

This is CLZ Alwin, writing this January 2025 newsletter from home!
The entire CLZ team has been working fully remote since Jan 1 now and we’re doing great. We’re chatting over Slack and doing lots of Slack huddles and Google Meets when needed. And we have met for lunch with the whole team twice now!
Looking back at the releases for this month and the progress on long running projects, we’re just as productive as we were at the office, while enjoying more freedom and free time. So far so good!
The topics for today’s newsletter:
- CLZ mobile apps:
- CLZ Scanner 2.0: Better barcode scanning / OCR reader for ISBNs
- CLZ Music / Movies / Games: Better barcode scanning
- CLZ Web cloud-based software:
- CLZ Comics Web: Re-design of Pull List feature (and now called “NCBD”)
- CLZ Music Web: Add by Barcode: combine discs into multi-disc album
- Coming up: more “compact” look for CLZ Web
We are currently working on a re-design of the CLZ Web cloud-based software, with a more modern and more “compact” look.
The main goal is to make the user interface (toolbars, etc..) more compact, so that more screen estate is freed up for your actual collection data. More collection items on screen, more folders on screen.
Also, this will make the CLZ Web software more usable on smaller laptop screens.
Today I can show you a sneak preview of the first area we tackled: the Edit screens.

Today we bring you a nice improvement for Adding Albums by Barcode.
Sometimes, when you scan the barcode of a multi-disc album, you only find the discs listed separately in the results. Annoying, because you of course want one album entry, with multiple discs. And now you can!
You can now checkbox the found discs to combine them int a multi-disc album! You can do so by clicking on the little < dropdown icon to "show all the found discs", and checkbox the discs you wish to include in your multi-disc album: Read more

In Catwoman, Vol. 5 #72 we see Selina dealing with her multiple identities ánd a ruthless oligarch on Eastern European soil at the same time. These things combined make for a very exciting wrap of the current arc.
With Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon #1 Marvel Comics gives us the duo you never knew you needed. Leave it up to the legendary J. Michael Straczynski to create an exciting, emotional ánd funny one-shot story.
In TVA #2 we follow Gwen, Peggy and alternate versions of Gambit and Wolverine to find out what is going on with the panic attacks and hallucinations reported by people all around the Multiverse. We find out this leads them to the Son of Satan himself. Be ready for one Hell-of-a-good issue!
