News & updates released in 2024 (page 5)
This week’s NCBD releases shows us the return of several strong leading ladies!
Sara Pezzini is back for revenge in Witchblade, Vol. 3 in a reimagining of the classic storyline. In Phoenix, Vol. 1 we see the return of Jean Grey, starring in a new galaxy-saving quest. And if that’s not all, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup Utonium are BACK in the brand new series The Powerpuff Girls. Whether you’re a fan of superhero shenanigans or mystical mysteries, this week’s comics are sure to leave you grinning like a Cheshire cat.
The CLZ content team (Rowdy, Justin, and Taco) has just finished adding and updating all the latest releases in our Core online comic database, including cover images, cover artists, variant descriptions, and more. Simply open your Add Comics screen and start scanning barcodes.

v9.4.3: Better workflow after adding from the issue tab, and some fixes
Updated:
- Add Comics: Issue tab: after adding a comic, the screen will now put the cursor in the search box straight away so you immediately start your next search
Fixed:
- Card view wouldn’t load the correct comics after adding
- Statistics: In some cases the order of “most recent comics” could be wrong
In the next few weeks, we will be revamping the Add Games screen. But instead of doing one big update with all changes, we will be working on this bit by bit, in several smaller updates.
This week, we started the project with something that has needed a redesign for quite a while, the platform picker, that is, the tool for selecting the platform to search in. Previously a simple drop-down, we made the platform picker into a nice pop-up screen now, that lets you select your own favorite platforms to be listed at the top!
Fixed:
- Some users were not able to add comics

- Free Mode is now called Free Trial (still works the same way)

Hurray, it’s New Comic Book Day. This week we have 470 new releases for 205 new unique issues.
In the current world of X-Men, Krokoa is no more. In issue #1 of the brand new ongoing series X-Men, Vol. 6 we follow the new adventures of the team, with Cyclops leading them into new adventures.
Issue #40 of Ice Cream Man is the second part of a hard-hitting story involving a family, two truck drivers and a deadly car crash.
And last but not least, Vampirella is listed in TWO different series this week: Vampirella: Dark Reflections #2 and Vampirella, Vol. 7 #670. I bet they are both compelling stories you can really sink your teeth into.
The CLZ content team (Rowdy, Justin and Taco) have just finished adding and updating all these new releases in our Core online comic database, complete with cover images, cover artists, variant descriptions, etc…. All you need to do is open your Add Comics screen and start scanning barcodes.

A new month, a new NCBD. This week we have 428 new releases and 183 new unique issues.
Issue #1 of DC Comics’ highly awaited new series Absolute Power is out and sees many of our heroes trying to fight evil forces WITHOUT their specific metahuman abilities.
Over at Marvel Comics we follow the adventures of an older Peter Parker in issue #1 of Spider-Man: Reign 2, in which he gets to meet a brand new Black Cat!
And speaking of cats, Dynamite Entertainment’s Thundercats: Cheetara is litter-ly yet ANOTHER brand new series. Enjoy!

Just update your CLZ Comics app to today’s version 9.4!!
Today is New Comic Book Day, so the perfect day to release CLZ Comics 9.4 with our new NCBD feature!
“NCBD” is what was previously called “Pull List”, but we figured that the name NCBD was a better fit of what the feature does, especially after today’s complete re-design.
Here’s what’s new:
- In the Add Comics screen, the fourth tab is now called “NCDB” (previously “Pull List”)
- Navigate over weeks with next/previous arrows, or tap for a dropdown
- Release list now directly shows the issues, as a Card View with big images
- Tap an issue to see all its variants
- New: filter by “#1’s” to show all #1 issues (so all new series)
- Sort issue list by Popularity or Alphabetically
To try the new NCDB tool for yourself, open the Add Comics screen, then choose the 4th tab called “NBCD”!
New:
- More collection status colors added in Add Movies screen to show what you already have (or what is already on your sold list, etc.)
Fixed:
- Adding by barcode could throw an incorrect “Already in collection” popup
[CLZ News] CLZ mobile apps: new 100-item “Free Mode” / Progress updates on our Core projects / Lego Barad-dûr tower
It’s me again, CLZ Alwin, with your CLZ News for June 2024.
Big changes for the CLZ mobile apps this month, as we replaced the 7-day trial with a 100-item “Free Mode”. Maybe not that interesting for you as an existing user, but then again, it *could* be. Read on below!
The implementation of the Free Mode took most of the time of the dev team this month, so only one other update went live, a cool new way to search comics in Comic Connect.
Of course, our 6-man Content Team (Rowdy, Martin, Justin, Taco, Kelvin and Senno) has been working full-time on our Core online databases. Their first priority always is the adding of all weekly new releases. When that’s done, they’ve always got some big projects going on, to improve the quality and completeness of the existing Core database.
Don’t worry, there’s time for fun too! We started building Lego projects at the office 🙂 First up was a big one: the Lego Barad-dûr tower!
Today’s topics:
- CLZ mobile apps: New “Free Mode” for small collectors
- Comic Connect: Search box top right now allows “Issue Search”
- Still coming up: CLZ Comics 9.4, with completely revised Pull List features
- CLZ Core updates:
- Core for Games: “Check Covers” project, 92.2% cloud coverage!
- Core for Movies: “Check Covers” project, 62.8% cloud coverage!
- Core for Comics: New Comic Book Day summary
