You can now import any text file (.txt) or comma separated value file (.csv) into your collection on Connect using the new import page in your Connect account.

With this new import tool you are able to quickly import a list of albums from for instance an existing collection you may have in a spreadsheet or different software. All you have to do is export those albums from your other software to a text or CSV file and follow the steps on the new Import page in your Connect account.

Instantly find and select a particular book in your local database:

  • In the Quick Search box, just start typing the first few letters of the author or title you are looking for.
  • While typing, a drop-down list will appear, showing the first five matching books.
    (for most books, it only takes 2 or 3 letters before it shows up.)
  • Once you see the one you were looking for, use the up/down keys to select it, then hit Enter.
  • The book will now be selected in your list, with the details showing in the Details Panel.

NOTE: this Search-As-You-Type feature replaces the old “filter-as-you-type” behaviour of the Quick Search box. If you want to go back to the old behaviour, you can do so in the Preferences screen, on the Behaviour page using the setting called “When typing in Quick Search box”.

  • In the Add Games screen when a barcode is not recognized, a new “Unrecognized Barcode” screen will appear.
  • In this screen:
    1. Just find your game by title (Search-As-You-Type is also active here!)
    2. Then click Add Game.
  • This will:
    1. Add the game to YOUR database with full game details and your barcode.
    2. Instantly add the barcode to OUR Core online game database, connected to the game you selected. Which means that the next user who searches for the same barcode, will instantly get a result 🙂

How to update your CLZ Games app to version 4.3.3:

  • On your device, open the App Store app.
  • On the bottom, switch to the Updates tab.
  • Find the CLZ Games entry and tap “UPDATE” on the right.

If you are adding most of your movies “By Title”, then this will be a huge time-saver.

Here’s how the new “Search-As-You-Type” feature works:

  1. In the Add Movies Automatically screen, just start typing the first letters of the title you want to add.
  2. While typing, a drop-down list will appear, showing the five most popular titles that match, including the release year and a small thumbnail image.
  3. For recent / popular movies, it usually takes only 2 or 3 letters before it shows up. For older or less popular movies, type a few more letters.
  4. Once you see your movie appear, use the arrow keys to select it, then hit Enter.
  5. Then under Search Results, that exact movie will be listed, automatically Previewed on the right.
  6. Click the Add Selected button to add it to your database.

An important v4.3.9 update for your CLZ Books Android app is now available.

This update introduces an easier way to deal with “Unrecognized ISBNs”.
A new screen that not only helps you to add the book to your database anyway, but also helps your fellow CLZ Books users by instantly adding the missing ISBN to the CLZ Core central online book database.

(this feature was introduced for our Windows, Mac and iOS versions earlier, and in the meantime, people have used this new tool to add over 22 thousand new books to our Core!)

  • In the Add screen, when a scanned ISBN is not recognized, a new “Unrecognized ISBN” screen will appear.
  • In this screen, just enter the Author, Title, Publisher and Year, then click Add Book.
  • This will:
    1. Add the book to your own database, with the information you filled in.
    2. Add the book to our Core central online book database.

The result: for the next user who searches for this particular ISBN, it will be recognized 🙂
