Our longtime competitor FNProgramvare (the maker of CATraxx) has ceased operations. We received loads of requests from current CATraxx users, seeking an alternative, for an import feature.
We have created and released a dedicated import routine for CATraxx users, wanting to switch to Music Collector. This import feature is available in Version Cobalt.2 build 1, released today.
We have just released version 11 for Music Collector for Windows.

The first Core edition, the one for books, was launched 3 months ago.
And today, it’s time to release the CD edition: Core for Music !
Core for Music is a new system that lets Music Collector users help each other
by improving the quality and completeness of our central online CD database.
It replaces the old “Submit to Collectorz.com” system with a more “quality focused” system and, on top of that, adds a quick way to report errors in our central data.
Important:
To use Core for Music, you need Music Collector 10.1 for Windows (released today). To get it, just use Check for Update in your current version. (Core will be added to the Mac edition later).
Core for Music consist of 3 parts:
We have just released Music Collector 10 for Mac OS X.
We have just released a major upgrade for Music Collector for Windows, version 10.
This version brings you improved handling of digital music files, plus many more functional and visual enhancements. Here’s a quick overview of what’s new in V10.

Yep, it is finally going to happen : Music Collector 10 for Windows and Mac!
Our Windows and Mac programmers Ronald and Patrick are working simultaneously on the New Music Collector and it is going to be a close call who releases first.
But it is Ronald who will release first and wins the X race, Music Collector for Windows will be released early May.
Patrick will follow suit, the major upgrade for Mac will be released by the end of May.
Way back when in 1996 Alwin Hoogerdijk, founder of Collectorz.com and my hubby, was sitting on a stack of CDs that were driving him insane. He finally got fed up with trying to remember what he had and where it was. So, he locked himself in a room and started writing a program that would keep track of everything for him.
You see, Alwin is a music lover by nature and a computer programmer by profession.
Here’s a question we get a lot lately, in our support inbox,
on the Forum, on our Facebook page and on Twitter:
"What about the Mac editions?"
Or: when will there finally be an update for my Mac software?
Of course, the question is fully justified. The Mac editions of Music, Movie and Book Collector haven’t had a serious update for a long time.
Also, the new Comic Collector for Mac has not yet received the features left out of the 5.0 release.
Well, I am happy to announce that this is all going to change. Read on for our Mac OS X plans. Read more
Comic Collector users know her for quite some time: CeCe. She is our action heroine and features in the comic cataloguing software, on banners, ads and on the website. She brings our software to life and that is why we asked the creator of CeCe, LoopyDave, to give her four siblings for the DVD, CD, book and game collection software.
The funny part with the creation of Kacey is, that from her original sketch to her final character and coloring, she hardly needed any alterations at all.
From brief to first sketch, she was alive from pencil stroke one.
The same goes for Gemma, while you can see from the iterations for Mickie, Becky and CeCe that we changed them (and our mind!) a lot.
The only babe missing from the Collectorz.com quintet is the Music Collector mascotte.
To summarize: CeCe for the comic organizer software, Becky for the book home library tool, Gemma for the video game list tool and Mickie promotes the DVD movie organizer software.
Well, here is the music muse in a rough black and white sketch. Her name?
