Coming up this Tuesday: Movie Collector 9 for Mac OS X !!

This is what Patrick and Ronald have been working on for the past 2 months,
aiming for early April as a possible release date. And amazingly, we’re gonna
make that deadline. In fact, it’s going to be very early April:
Movie Collector 9 for Mac is going live on Tuesday April 2, just 3 days left!

So it’s about time we reveal the full What’s New list. Here it is:

  • Automatic images and IMDb links for Actors and Directors.
  • New Virtual Shelves look for Images View.
  • “Core for Movies” integration: report missing entries and data errors.
  • Fully configurable Update Movies Automatically feature.
  • Improved layout of Add Movies Automatically screen.
  • Customizable images for all pick list items (e.g. Formats, Countries, etc..).
  • Integrated support for our CLZ Barry wireless barcode scanner app.
  • New “Collectorz Blue” icons everywhere.
  • Two new templates: Vee Nine and Blockz.

If you want the full story on the above bullets, including screen shots,
use the form below to get instant access to our Movie Collector 9 for Mac Preview Page:

BTW:

  • What will it cost? -> The upgrade to v9 will cost US $24.95 (or EUR
    19.95).
  • But I just purchased! -> The upgrade will be free for everyone who
purchased v8 in the last 3 months before the v9 release.
  • Do I *have to* upgrade? -> No, the upgrade is completely optional.

Now live in the App Store: 2.1 versions of all 4 iOS apps

The four 2.0 versions of our iOS apps are quite popular in the App Store.
So before moving on to fifth one (CLZ Games) we decided to
implement some often requested features for the existing four.

Here’s what’s new in the 2.1 updates (now available in the App Store):

  • Add screen: New option to directly add to Collection or Wish List.
  • New “multi-select screen”, to select entries for batch operations:
    • New: Update Automatically feature: update from the online database.
    • New: Remove multiple entries in one go.
  • Redesign of item lists (format icons, seen it/read it icons, etc…).
  • New A-Z quick-scroll bars in all folder lists.
  • CLZ Comics: Support for Preview Art.
  • CLZ Movies: New Data Language setting (to get plots in other languages).

Work in progress: CLZ Games 2.0 for iOS

After pushing the above four 2.1 updates to the App Store, Pim immediately got
started on number 5: CLZ Games 2.0. In the meantime, he has made good progress
and we’re currently planning to submit it to Apple around April 15.

New in CLZ Games 2.0:

  • Add books by Platform & Title or by “camera-scanning” game barcodes.
  • Edit your game collection and wish list entries.
  • Synchronize two-ways with the Game Collector software through Connect.
  • CLZ Games 2.0 will be a universal iPhone + iPad app.

Work in progress: Core for Comics

Collectorz.com CoreCore is our new system for reporting missing entries and data errors in our
central online databases. Core is already live for Music, Books and Movies.
This new Core system replaces the old Submit to Collectorz.com feature.

Up next is Core for Comics. Robbert is currently implementing the web pages
for it. When that is done it is up to Ronald and Patrick to integrate Core
support in the various Comic Collector editions (Windows, Mac and Connect).
No ETA yet… Will let you know as soon as we have more Core for Comics news.

Happy Easter!
