News & updates
We’re nearing the end of May already, so time for an update on all things CLZ,
in the May 2012 edition of the Collectorz.com Newsletter.
Today’s topics:
- New site design
- 30.000 (thirty thousand!) “likes” on Facebook!
- Music Collector 10 for Windows and Mac
- Movie Collector 8.2 for Windows – free update for v8 users
- What else is going on?
New site design
You may have already seen some changes in the past few weeks, while we were
testing the new design, but now it’s official and live for everyone:
The new look for the Collectorz.com website.
- a fresh look for the product tabs and menu at the top
- a new 3-column layout for all product pages. For example,
here’s the one for Movie Collector.
Click the product names at the top to see them all.
30.000 (thirty thousand!) “likes” on Facebook!
In May 2009, we created our Collectorz.com page on Facebook. Through the years, this page has become a great user community, surpassing our own forum in both number of users and activity. And of course, it’s the best place to hear all Collectorz.com news first!
This month, exactly 3 years after we started, we reached a big milestone:
30.000 people now “like” our page!
If you are on Facebook, please show your support
for our company by liking our Facebook page too.
Just go here: https://www.facebook.com/Collectorz
then click the Like button at the top. See you there!
Music Collector 10 for Windows and Mac
As you know, Music Collector 10 for Windows has been live since May 2.
And we’re happy to see that thousands of users immediately upgraded to v10.
If you haven’t upgraded yet, you can do so here.
The Mac edition of Music Collector 10 is almost ready too.
Patrick, Ronald and AJ are working on it full-time, making sure
everything is ready (and tested!) before the big launch on June 12.
Movie Collector 8.2 for Windows – free update for v8 users
On May 9, we released version 8.2 of Movie Collector for Windows, which brings:
* Improved Tools / Maintenance / Update File Links screen. Simpler to use and
now correctly handles files with non-unique filenames ( e.g. VIDEO_TS.IFO ).
* Re-designed Loan Manager (the new screen introduced in Book Collector v8).
* Add Auto screen now has separate tabs for adding by Title and by Barcode.
* Edit Movie screen: new calendar tool for easier entry of date fields.
The full What’s New list is here.
This is a free update for everyone who already owns a v8 license.
Just use Help / Check for Update to get it.
What else is going on?
Let me see…
- First, there’s Pim and the new iOS apps. Progress on this is slow, mainly
because of our decision to merge the iPhone and iPad apps into one app.
This is proving to be quite a challenge, but we’re confident that the extra
work will all pay off because of easier/faster updates in the future.
We’ll be able to show some screenshots soon. Keep an eye on our FB page! - Then, we have Rowdy and Martin, who are preparing our online game database
for a big launch later this year. And yes, for both Windows AND Mac!!! - Robbert is working on something new, something we call “Collectorz.com Core”.
It will become the new way for you all to help us improve both the quantity
and quality our central online databases. More news about Core soon. - Finally, there is Sven. Sven is working on (gasp!) a non-Collectorz product!
But still, this new product may have a big impact on an underdeveloped area
of our Collectorz.com stuff: the manuals. That’s all I can say for now 🙂
Enjoy!
