Collectorz.com Newsletter October 2011

Last day of the month, so it’s Collectorz.com Newsletter time.
Here’s an overview of what we’re working on at the moment
(and will be working on for the next months, since these are all enormous projects).

  • Taking Connect to the next level
  • Adding & editing features for mobile apps
  • Movie Collector 8.0 for Mac – first screen shots
  • Comic Collector 5 for Mac updates

Taking Connect to the next level

We’re finally working on Collectorz.com Connect again,
our online software for publishing your database online.
The look and feel will be updated, new functionality added,
easier sign up and renew systems, etc.. etc…

All changes will be released in small incremental updates, of course all free
for subscribers, and fully automatic. Just log in to use your new software.

At the moment, Robbert is improving the Search features of all Connect editions.
AJ and Sven are working together to change the design and layout of most pages.

And the first result of their work is already live: a new navigation header.
This new header is lower / flatter, giving you more screen space for your data:

Adding & editing features for mobile apps

Yes, it’s gonna happen: adding and editing features in the mobile CLZ apps.
Pim has started on this big project and is now creating “Add Automatically”
screens for the iOS apps. First up: the iPad edition of CLZ Comics.

Add and Edit functions for all CLZ Mobile apps

It’s gonna be a while before any of these will be released though,
because adding/editing feature must go hand in hand with 2-way syncing,
which is a project that involves all Mac and Windows programs too.

Movie Collector 8.0 for Mac – first screen shots

Ronald, Patrick and Bernard are working on the upcoming
updates of Movie, Book and Music Collector for Mac OS X.
Yep, on all 3 at the same time, for maximum efficiency.

Currently, the status of Movie Collector for Mac is a little ahead,
so we can already proudly show you the first screens of v8 for Mac:

ETA for Movie Collector 8 for Mac is late December 2011.
The Book Collector and Music Collector updates will follow in Q1 and Q2 2012.

Comic Collector 5 for Mac updates

In the meantime, Dinh is still working on Comic Collector 5 for Mac,
releasing smaller updates in quick succession. Last week, we released
version 5.1 build 5, which introduced:

  • Main screen size and panel sizes are now remembered over sessions.
  • Performance improvements for the main screen folder panel.
  • Several bug fixes.

That’s it for this month’s newsletter. For more regular updates on all the
above projects, make sure to follow us on Twitter or “like” us on Facebook:
