It’s alive! It’s alive! NCBD is here once more
The legend begins! The Norse Myths tell of Gods who walked the Earth, doing great deeds for the mortals who believed in them. But Asgard isn’t real, and never was. The Gods never soared in our skies, never stood with our heroes, never fought for kindness or justice. It was all just a story. Nobody’s coming to help us. But somewhere in the city… a man is waking up. A man with a hammer. The Mortal Thor #1. Written by Al Ewing and art by Pasqual Ferry.
Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man #1 Jack Griffin has always been invisible to the people around him, at least in his own mind. But when an experimental breakthrough presents a path to make his dreams of invisibility a reality, no one, not even the woman he loves will stand in his way. Witness Griffin’s legendary descent into madness as his humanity fades away and the monster inside is revealed, leaving only… The Invisible Man! The horror dream team of James Tynion IV and DaNi reveal their vision for one of the most horrific monsters in cinematic history!
Humanity broke the barrier between our universe and our universe’s shadow. From the void came horrific apparitions that craved nothing but destruction. But from this terror… a legend was born. A warrior who found a way to access the energy that binds our universe and the shadow universe, transforming him into a cosmic dark knight. This immortal legend was named Batman. He fought to keep us safe but then one day abandoned the war. Though he didn’t disappear entirely. Now they say he hunts a rogues gallery of monsters… born from the shadows! Immortal Legend Batman #1

Super-thief, super… Hero?! Felicia Hardy is the Black Cat, the world’s slyest and most skilled super-thief! She loves a good score. The longer the odds, the better! But her entire world turned upside down after the Amazing Spider-Man’s battle with Hellgate, so Felicia is turning over a new leaf as New York City’s newest… super hero?! The first super villain on her list: the Lizard! But will the Black Cat risk it all after her do-gooding moral high ground attracts dangerous attention from the lowest of the city’s underworld? Easy, Kingpin of Crime, she’s still skimming off the top! Black Cat #1
Escape #1 Milton Shaw is a battle-hardened bomber pilot, flying missions over a war-torn world ruled by a ruthless empire. But when his plane is shot out of the sky, Milton wakes up behind enemy lines — in the smoldering ruins of a city he helped burn. And in less than 24 hours, his own side is dropping the big one to finish the job.
Now, injured, unarmed, and being hunted through enemy streets, Milton’s only shot at escape comes from the unlikeliest place: a grieving father and his son — civilians shattered by the same fascist regime that rules this land with an iron claw. Enemies by blood. Allies by circumstance. Together, they’ll have to fight their way out before the bomb drops and erases everything… and everyone. Set in a brutal, fully painted world of anthropomorphic animals — think Inglourious Basterds meets Blacksad — ESCAPE is a gritty, bullet-riddled journey through war’s scorched aftermath. It’s about the violence we inflict, the souls we try to save, and the courage it takes to crawl out of fire.
An epic, star-studded, oversize 1.100 issues in the making! Detective Comics #1100 In March 1937, a comic book was published that changed the world as we know it. Now, 1,099 issues later, some of comics’ top talents have gathered to celebrate the comic that birthed a legend!
Tom Taylor and Mikel Janín join forces once again to tell a heartfelt and action-packed story of Batman rescuing a young boy’s best friend. Greg Rucka and Álvaro Martínez Bueno team up for a tale that asks the question: was Gotham better off before Batman? Mariko Tamaki reunites with Detective Comics collaborator Amancay Nahuelpan for a yarn that explores Bruce Wayne’s world outside of the cowl and how his double life as Batman intersects with his alter ego’s actions. Dan Watters and legendary artist Bill Sienkiewicz bring us a story that illustrates just how similar Batman’s motivations are to the criminals he has sworn to fight and how he fights against his own darkness.

In December 2024, we introduced a cool new way to add comics to your app: just scan the cover!
No more need to scan the barcode, no more need to find series by title and/or issue number… Just take a picture of the cover and the app shows you possible matches. Pick the right one and add it to your collection. Easy, fast… and.. everyone can do it, even if your knowledge of the comic world is limited.
Now, we expected this feature to be a hit, mainly for comics that do not have a barcode, or maybe for comics that have the barcode on the back cover. However, the Cover Scanner turned out to be way more popular than anticipated and by now it has grown to be the most popular feature in the app and, somewhat surprisingly, the main way for most users to add their comics, even for comics that do have a barcode.
So… it’s time for the next step. Let’s make this feature even faster and easier!
Here’s what’s new in today’s version 10.3 update:
- Easier and quicker match selection
- New queue mode for adding in batch
- New two-panel layout for tablets in landscape mode
Suit up, heroes—it’s New Comic Book Day!

As the Formula X Championship heats up, the Racer family faces black‑ops sabotage, underground crime syndicates and one masked rival who may know them all too well. Legacy, loyalty—and neon‑lit danger—await on the track.
Sun, Sand, Superman? DC’s Kal‑El‑Fornia Love takes the Super‑Family on a West Coast vacation like no other. From Supergirl battling sea monsters in Malibu to Bizarro crashing a Hollywood set, it’s a whirlwind of beachside chaos, magical mayhem and kaiju in the Pacific. The perfect summer read for fans of heart, humor and heroics.
And finally, let’s journey into a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The High Republic Finale #1. It promises to cap off Phase III of the High Republic saga, where Jedi face the scourge of the Blight, the rise of Marchion Ro and a nameless threat consuming the Force itself. The destiny of the Jedi Order hangs in the balance!

v10.2.8: “Update from Core” now replaces preview art with final cover art
New:
- “Update from Core” will now replace preview art with final cover art if it is available.
Some explanation on the above:
If no regular art is available yet, comics often will have preview art as front cover. Once final cover art is available, we update the comic in Core with that final cover art.
To get the final cover art, just select one or more comics, then tap Update from Core from the action menu.
Also:
- CLZ Comics has been updated to the new Play Store API

Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell #1, written by Charles Soule and art by Steve McNiven. We get an old Matt Murdock, and his powers have faded to nothing. Matt will not, however, sit by and watch his fellow New Yorkers suffer, so instead of swinging around the city from his billy club line, he slings soup at a food center for the poor. But when a mysterious wrinkly old man interrupts a secret convoy causing an explosion, a deadly gas fills Hell’s Kitchen and this tale takes a turn that will change how you look at the Man Without Fear.
Thirteen years ago, Orin McCabe was a family man living a privileged life in the suburbs. Today, he’s condemned to death row for murdering his entire family in an unexpected fit of hammer-wielding brutality. In the aftermath of his heinous crime, it’s fallen to a trio of eclectic, but dedicated, ghost hunters—Jacob, the holy man; Holland, the skeptic; and their leader, Del, a true believer in the occult and worlds beyond—to surveil the abandoned McCabe home in search of proof for the existence of the undead . . . and whatever supernatural source may have possibly fueled McCabe’s inhuman massacre. But this ill-matched and uneasy squad of investigators is about to discover something much more terrifying than any ordinary spirit. . . . Something much more pernicious, much more contagious, that if not contained, could take full advantage of America’s unquenchable appetite for violence and deliver a plague of blood unto us all . . . Plague House #1. Written by Michael Conrad, Art by Dave Chisholm
He’s back! Brought to you by writer Ram V. and artist Butch Guice: Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma #1! The lines of cosmic order will begin to blur as no good deed goes unpunished. And whatever the cause, whatever the consequence, this much is true… he’s dying to save you!

Comics! Get your comics! Fresh off the press!
Yes, we know the sequels are not received well. But Marvel is doing something really cool with Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #2. Charles Soule has you going back to the origin of Vader through the eyes of Kylo Ren. By having him go back to places Vader has visited in the past. You’re visiting Tatooine once again with pirates on Rancor’s and a member of the Hutt family! Great fun!
For DC this week we want to put the spotlight on a few classics that have been reprinted. Swamp Thing, Vol. 2 #37, Batman #31, Batman Adventures #12 are all getting facsimiles, which of these are you picking up?
Time is having a crisis. Mingling in the red-light district, you can find actual cavemen, medieval knights, and cyborg soldiers on leave from World War IV. Victorian debutantes amble their way into cell phone stores, confused and bewildered (what is a data plan?). On their way to work, bleary-eyed commuters get trapped in time-loops, assaulted by alternate-reality versions of themselves, and try to avoid post-apocalyptic wastelands. And LOOK: the 3:15 bus just took a wrong turn… into the neolithic era. That’s Assorted Crisis Events #1 for you in a nutshell!. Deniz Camp and Eric Zawadzki along with Jordie Bellaire are giving you an ongoing, zig-zagging anthology series about the compromised clicks of our clocks-full of one-shot stories both beautiful and ugly, tragic and redemptive, surreal and somehow all too familiar.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3, an amazing show which has it’s finale today as well! It perfectly captures the Jack Kirby art-style in the moving format and pays big respects to the stories and characters Marvel has created over the years. Godzilla: Heist #1What if you could predict when and where Godzilla would appear? What if you knew of the perfect opportunity to pull off the heist of the century?
Jai is a young man who knows two things: A heist needs a good distraction, and there’s no distraction like Godzilla. So, when Jai discovers Godzilla responds to specific energy signals he can send into the atmosphere, he creates the perfect opportunity to stage high-profile heists in the middle of Godzilla attacks. Such a weird but fun concept. This should be a great read based on the description alone!
