Usagi Yojimbo: Kaito ’84 #1. This story takes you to 1984 in Osaka which gives you a heist story with a descendant of Usagi Yojimbo thrown in there. Jared Cullum’s watercolor art compliments to story very well. Definite NCBD pick up for CLZ Taco.
Has the green orc hype caught up to him? Probably.. CLZ Rowdy’s pick for this week is D’Orc #2, especially the B cover by Riley Rossmo. We really enjoyed issue 1, so we can’t wait to give this one a read!
Imperial Guardians #1. Cosmic Ghost Rider is back! Along with a crew this time around. Darkhawk, Amadeus Cho, Captain Marvel and Gamora? Sign me up! From what was teased this is Suicide Squad in space ordered by the Inhuman Maximus to fight against the Kree. Written by Dan Abnett and art by Marcelo Ferreira, Jay Leisten % Rachelle Rosenberg.

Tons of books out this week! Lots of later printings for both Marvel and DC’s most populair titles. Some beautiful covers and great stories to be read. Here are a few books that were hand picked by our content managers:
Daredevil and Punisher fight to protect New York City! Will their tentative alliance survive this ordeal, or will the final battle be with each other? Daredevil / Punisher: The Devil’s Trigger #5. The Peach Momoko variant is an instant buy for me!
This was a total cover buy for me. The KyuYong Eom variant for Batgirl #17, is a killer cover! Start of a new story arc titled “The Curse of the Blood” which spins directly out of the DC K.O. event.
Star Wars: Shadow of Maul #1. Are you hyped yet for Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord? I sure am! Janix, a neon-lit, shadow-soaked maze of a planet that lies beyond the reach of the Empire. A special update for the slab collectors!
Three years ago, we introduced a new look for slabbed comics, with generated “slab frames” around the cover images, with blue/yellow/green labels at the top the grade at the top left, even showing actual Custom Labels. Making it super easy to spots your slabs between your raw comics.
For several reasons, that feature was only implemented in the Vertical Card View and on the comic details pages. Not in Horizontal Cards View (we figured it would be too small) and in Cover View and Shelves View (technically complex because of the configurable size).
However, our Web developer Michiel gave it another try and did make it work this time.
So that’s what’s new in today’s update:
The generated slab frames are now visible in Horizontal Cards, Covers and Shelves View too!
Such a good week for comics! With DC taking the crown of most releases this week compared to Marvel. We saw Absolute Wonder Woman #17 in our Most Wanted on Monday. But it looks like Detective Comics #1106 beat that today! Here are a few books that were hand picked by our content managers:
Are you ready for a new Punisher #1? I sure am always in the mood for it.The Punisher #1. Written by Benjamin Percy and art by José Luis Soares Pinto, Oren Junior and Frank D’Armata. It sees the return of Jigsaw and Frank Castle hunting for answers after his memory is damaged once again. Definitely getting the Alex Maleev Variant!
Boom! Another new volume of anything and everything Massive-Verse. Across the Massive-Verse TP Vol. 2. This time it features Radiant Red, Radiant Pink, No/One and Cowl. I’d say a perfect entry point for new readers!
New History of the DC Universe: The Dakota Incident #1. From what we’ve seen and has been teased so far, this is going to be a solid read! It’s about a murder that leads to an all out war between the heroes of Dakota City and the US government. Surely that won’t be troubling? Static & Rocket and likely other Milestone character will hopefully safe the day here!

This is it, THE main feature release for 2026. A huge step forward in the customizability of the software. And I am not talking about tweaking the look and feel here, like layout, colors, fonts, etc… No… this time we are giving you the ability to actually customize the database itself!
Yep, today is the launch of the “Custom Fields” feature (previously known as “User Defined Fields”).
The Custom Fields feature will let you create your own data fields, to catalog any information for which the software does not have a built-in field. You can create text fields, number fields, date fields, Yes/No toggles, pick list fields and much more.
All fields you create can be edited on a special Custom Fields tab of the Edit screen and their data will nicely appear in a special section in the comic details panel in the main screen. And of course, you will be able to use the fields like any built-in fields, use them as columns, sort on them, use pick list fields as folders, add the fields to printed list, exports, etc..
Are you ready for the next step in customizing your CLZ Web software?
Coming up next Monday:
Create your own Custom Fields!
The Custom Fields feature will let you create your own database fields, to catalog any information for which the software does not have a built-in field.
Fill in your custom fields on the special tab of the Edit screen and their data will nicely appear in a special section in the details panel in the main screen. And of course, you will be able to use the fields like any built-in fields, use them as columns, sort on them, use pick list fields as folders, add the fields to printed list, exports, etc..
Lots of fun books to choose from this week. From continuous issues to new number ones. NCBD has it all! Here are a few books that were hand picked by our content managers:
It’s time to cue the music, it’s time to dim the lights. It’s time to get things started as the Muppets return tonight! Legendary cartooning talent and Muppets comics veteran Roger Langridge bellies up to the drawing table once more for an all-new tale of crime and pun-ishment with The Muppets Noir #1, where he’s going to have to solve the baffling mystery of the Snoozing Sleuth. Check that wonderful Declan Shalvey cover!
Who doesn’t love Marvel’s baby shark? I sure can’t get enough of him. It’s Jeff Meets Daredevil. Jeff the Land Shark learns the meaning of courage from on other then the man without fear! Love the Jaws homage variant by Nic Klein.
I Hate Fairyland #48. Are you caught up yet to this series? In this issue Gert and Larry find themselves merged together into a fly-hybrid creature. Yuck! As a massive Garbage Pail Kids fan, I couldn’t help myself and had to snag the B variant for this issue. Such a cool homage!

Another stacked new comic book bay this week! With many #1’s by both Marvel, DC and the indie publishers. Here are a few books that were hand picked by our content managers:
A new superhero universe is born! Written by the legendary Larry Hama and art by Mark D. Bright with Josh Burcham. Without spoiling the plot: It takes place in a world where superheroes have become commonplace, heroes are required to join a union or else face serious financial liability for the damage caused during battles. And though the delicate balance of mitigating damage while saving lives is already tough enough, they’ve got their own worries with a constant stream of villains rising up to challenge them. The Center Holds #1 with 48 pages of story!
Fan or not, Jar Jar Binks has his #1 releasing this week. Star Wars: Jar Jar #1. This time co-written by the actor Ahmed Best. Art by Laura Braga, Kieran McKeown and Mike Atiyeh. It tells the story of the formation of the Rebel Alliance and has a fun guest star in the form of Kelleran Beq. That’s got to be meta in some way right?
Vertigo is back! Bleeding Hearts #1. The zombies won and ten years after the fall of humanity, they’re the dominant form of life (or not-life) on Earth. They’ve developed their own cultural practices, their own language, their own society. This seems like such a fun read with a slight twist to what we’ve seen before with zombies. It’s written by Deniz Camp and has the art done by Stipan Morian and Matt Hollingsworth. Definitely a pick up for me!

This week’s new comic book bay is absolutely stacked! Truly feels like February is the month that publishers have started back up again after the New Years. Note-worthy comics that have been hand picked by our content managers:
DC releasing their crossover issue with the likes of Scorpion, Homelander, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and many more. All can be found fighting to the death in DC K.O.: Boss Battle #1.
Is this Red Ghost’s dream comic? It might possibly be! It has Marvel’s First Family who find themselves stranded on the Planet of the Apes world. Planet of the Apes vs. Fantastic Four #1. Oh and check out the Germán Peralta Variant!
It’s not a secret that Taco’s a big fan of anything Massive-verse related. He was able to meet and drink a beer with the creative crew in NY! That’s pretty cool right? So this weeks pick isn’t a total shocker, it’s: Inferno Girl Red, Vol. 2 #3. This weeks issue has Inferno Girl Red missing and it’s the conclusion to book two with 45 pages of story. What’s not to love here?

Years ago, Tony Stark was knocking on death’s door, so he created the Iron Man armor to survive! What happens the next time death comes calling? What weapon does he create then? What if… someone else creates it first? These questions have haunted Tony for years, a ticking time bomb inside of him waiting to explode. Femme fatale Madame Masque has also asked these questions, and with the power of Advanced Idea Mechanics behind her… she’s ready to create the next great weapon.
