What's new in CLZ Comics Mobile?

We have another exciting week of new comics and variants ahead! Let’s take a closer look at this week’s highlights.
First up is X-Men #35, written by Jed MacKay with artwork by Tony S. Daniel. This is your start into X-Men’s DNX event. Hank McCoy, the bouncing blue Beast, is haunted by a ghost — not of his past, but of his future… and his present. The Chairman of 3K, an older, amoral version of himself, represents one of the greatest threats the X-Men have faced since the fall of Krakoa, and Beast must struggle with his own terrible potential.
Our second highlight is Absolute Batman #23, written by Scott Snyder and art by Nick Dragotta. Absolute Clayface is here! In a climactic showdown, Batman is forced to battle an unyielding enemy in not just the Robins but in himself. More than one dead character signals a call for help… and a symbol of hopelessness as more friends become enemies.
Last, we take a look at Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Spawn #17, The Gunslinger’s world is on fire. Enemies are closing in on all sides, and the answers he is searching for are just out of his grasp. Written by Jimmy Palmiotti and drawn by Jordi Armengol
All comics releasing this week can be found in the NCBD tab on your Add Comics screen. Every new release has been carefully cleaned up, with lots of extra information added, so be sure to check them out in the app—whether you’re at your local comic shop or back home adding the stack you just picked up!

We have another exciting week of new comics and variants ahead! Let’s take a closer look at this week’s highlights.
First up is Mary Jane: Face It, Tiger #1, a giant-sized one-shot celebrating 60 years of Mary Jane Watson. It features three stories set during different eras of MJ’s life, following her journey from party girl and fashion model to superhero and symbiote host. The issue also includes an epilogue offering a glimpse of what’s next for Mary Jane. If that doesn’t pique your curiosity, we don’t know what will!
Our second highlight is Batman, Vol. 4 #12, written by Matt Fraction with artwork by Jorge Jiménez. This issue introduces Verity Pennyworth, a brilliant new ally—and potential new butler for Bruce Wayne. We can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
Finally, we have Gun Honey: 5th Anniversary Oversized Special #1, written by Charles Ardai with artwork by Ang Hor Kheng. This massive commemorative edition celebrates five years of Joanna Tan’s adventures with an oversized presentation of the original first issue. Whether you’re just discovering the series or have been a fan since the beginning, this is one issue you won’t want to miss!

We’re slowly recovering from the SDCC craze! Luckily, we have a somewhat quieter week ahead, with around 395 new variants releasing. After last week’s record-breaking numbers, the content team can finally catch its breath.
Let’s take a look at some of the releases hitting shelves this week. First up is Queen in Black #1, written by Al Ewing with artwork by Iban Coello. This new Marvel event throws Hela and Knull into a cosmic clash, with Earth and its heroes caught right in the middle. We are already on the lookout for those blind bag variants!
Our second highlight is X-Men, Vol. 6 #34, written by Jed MacKay. This issue puts Cain Marko (Juggernaut) front and center. After a lifetime spent as a bully, criminal, and supervillain, Cain is now an X-Man. But can the Juggernaut stay a hero?
Last, we take a look at Alice Forever After #5, the final issue of Dan Panosian’s dark reimagining of Alice in Wonderland. This tale is finally coming to it’s ends, and we can’t wait to see how it happens!

This is it, the big v11.0 update for your CLZ Comics app. About a week later than planned, because our friends at Apple sure took their time reviewing our update 🙂 Oh well, it’s here now!
Version 11 is a huge step forward in the customizability of the app. And I am not talking about tweaking the look and feel here, like layout, colors, fonts, etc… No… this time we are giving you the ability to actually customize the database itself, with your own “Custom Fields“!
The Custom Fields feature will let you create your own data fields, to catalog any information for which the app does not have a built-in field. You can create text fields, number fields, date fields, Yes/No toggles, pick list fields and much more.
All fields you create can be edited on a special Custom Fields tab of the Edit Comic screen. The entered data will nicely appear in a special section on the comic details page. And of course, you will be able to use the fields like any built-in fields, that is, sort on them, use pick list, date and toggle fields as folders, search your text fields, etc..

Our biggest NCBD yet! This week sees the release of 1,235 new comics. It’s been a busy week over here for the content team!
This crazy number, of course, has everything to do with San Diego Comic-Con, which starts tomorrow. We are now up to 664 SDCC exclusives, and that number is still climbing. On top of that, there are 99 regular store exclusive variants releasing, bringing our total exclusive count to 763 exclusives.
Let’s not forget the regular releases hitting shelves this week. Out today is Gambit: Wanted #1, written by Chris Claremont, so you won’t want to miss it! Also releasing this week is Terminal #1, which looks to be Image Comics’ take on the X-Men. We can’t wait to see what it’s all about.
Last, we take a look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #20, which also marks the series’ legacy numbering issue #300! We had our hands full with this one, as there are 90 different variants releasing for this milestone issue.
All comics releasing this week can be found in the NCBD tab on your Add Comics screen. Every new release has been carefully cleaned up, with lots of extra information added, so be sure to check them out in the app—whether you’re at your local comic shop or back home adding the stack you just picked up!
And for those of us attending SDCC, good luck hunting for those special grails! If you find any exclusives that aren’t in Core yet, be sure to report them on Club CLZ.

Yes, it has been quite a while since we released updates for the CLZ mobile app. But there is a good reason for that. Most of the CLZ team has been working on our biggest update since years. And its release is very close now!
So here’s a quick heads-up for all users of our CLZ mobile apps: Within 2 weeks, we are going to release major version 11.0 updates for all 5 apps (CLZ Comics, CLZ Movies, CLZ Books, CLZ Music and CLZ Games).
In this version 11, we will introduce an important new CLZ feature, bringing yet another way to customize the app to fit your wants and needs:
Custom Fields: create your own data fields!
The Custom Fields feature will let you create your own data fields, to catalog any information for which the app does not have a built-in field.
You will be able to use the fields like any built-in fields, that is, sort on them, use custom pick list fields as folders, sync the data to CLZ Cloud, print or export list with the custom fields included, etc…
And, if you are also subscribed to the CLZ Web cloud-based software for your computer: the Custom Fields are available there too, so you can sync your created fields and their data between Web and mobile!

NCBD! A slower release week due to the summer. Need something to cool off? Marvel’s got you covered with their Swimsuit Special! With 21 different covers no less. Absolute Martian Manhunter’s final issue is releasing today as well. Tons of great books to pick up. Here are a few books that were handpicked by our content managers:
CLZ Taco’s pick this week: Radiant Black #43. The previous issue left us on a cliffhanger, really looking forward for this weeks issue. This time bringing in a new artist: Giona Zefiro.
CLZ Rowdy’s pick this week: The Scorched #52. Jessica and her team are now trapped behind enemy lines while two separate armies close in. Will they escape before caught find out with me this weeks issue!
CLZ Justin’s pick this week: Star Wars: Rogue One – Saw Gerrera #1. Saw Gerrera is here once again, this time with higher stakes: information that would provide a tactical advantage that could shift the balance of power in the Rebels’ favor! But is the price to be paid for that information too high?
All comics releasing this week can be found in the NCBD tab in your add comics screen. All new releases have been carefully cleaned up, with lots of info added! Be sure to check them out in the app. Either when you hit your comic shop or, when back home adding your stack you’ve just come home with!

NCBD! Tons of new books cleaned up and ready for you to add to your database. We’re currently working trough the new releases in extremely hot weather! We had Wolverine #22 in our Most Wanted on Monday, looks like 2 Absolute titles crushed poor Wolvie this week. Oh and Supergirl is releasing on Friday. Here are a few books that were handpicked by our content managers:
My pick (CLZ Taco) this week is: Justice League Unlimited #20F. Another Supergirl cover releasing this week, It will never stop! And a Bilquis Evely cover no less. Lex Luthor and the Dark Knight are the heart of the mystery surrounding Brainiac Queen’s return.
My pick (CLZ Rowdy) this week is: Hellboy and the BPRD: The Monster of Nivola #1A. Rumors of a monster bring Hellboy to a nearly abandoned town in Sardinia, where the search for the creature leads to a local abbey with a shocking secret of its own. What trouble will it bring Hellboy? Written by Christopher Golden & art by Daniele Serra!
My pick (CLZ Justin) this week is: Absolute Wonder Woman #21B. A new chapter in the Absolute Wonder Woman saga, this week a new 2 part story arc titled: Friends & Neighbors. The cover I picked, connects to Absolute Superman #20 & Batman #21. They’re going to look on my wall!

NCBD! Yes, another Absolute title that takes the crown for being the most populair comic this week. It’s Absolute Batman #21, this time with 107 variants! Amazing Spider-Man #31 should be an interesting issue too, due to what’s been going on with a certain Cormac Crane… And if that’s not all, Something is Killing the Children is back with #48. Here are a few books that were handpicked by our content managers:
My pick (CLZ Taco) this week is: Lobo 4. I’m currently buying anything Supergirl related. Hey, no need to judge me. Lobo and Supergirl on a date? This story will be told in another perspective inside of the Summer of Supergirl Special. This one should be more fun though.
My pick (CLZ Rowdy) this week is: Concrete: Stars Over Sand #1. Concrete wandering across the desert, Lost. Larry and Maureen are frantic. Will they find him in time? Found out here!
My pick (CLZ Justin) this week is: Hellboy in Love: Obsidian #1. Hellboy and Anastasia playing Indiana Jones in a tomb with monsters? Sold

NCBD! Absolute Catwoman has arrived! With 73 variants nonetheless. Yes, our content managers are still doing okay. Image is releasing Youngblood’s anniversary issue 1000. And Marvel’s Armageddon event starting off today! Here are a few books that were handpicked by our content managers:
My pick (CLZ Taco) this week is: Supergirl 14E. The search for Supergirl! Lena Luthor searches for Supergirl before it’s too late for the bottled city of Kandor. Nothing can stop Black Flame as she continues to be a threat to the city. Love the cover by Jim Lee, this in my opinion is one of the best Supergirl movie variants.
My pick (CLZ Justin) this week is: Avengers: Armageddon #1. Red Hulk trowing a rampage across the world, Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wolverine and more are here to stop him but who will survive?
