The Shake feature is a popular gimmick of the CLZ Comics app: just shake your phone to make it show a random comic from your collection.
This cool tool has even resulted in a recurring trend in the “CLZ Comics” group on Facebook: The Shake of the Day.
Members shake their phone and post a screenshot of the random comic that appears, marking it with the #shakeoftheday hashtag. It’s a fun way to show interesting comics from your collection that you would not have picked yourself.
However… it has come to our attention that some members of this group are being, let’s say, “less than honest” with their shakes!
We found that some members are:
- not posting their actual first shake, and instead re-shaking several times until an interesting comic comes up
- or, the horror, not even shaking at all, and just selecting a comic manually!
The effect of this fraudulent behaviour is easily spotted in the group, browsing the so-called “#shakeoftheday” posts
- a dubious number of higher value shakings
- a suspicious amount of key comics being “shaked”
- a questionable shake frequency of scantily clad ladies
It’s clear we’ve reached the point where this fake shaking must stop!
So today, we are introducing a new feature in the app:
The Fake Shake Detector!
This detector uses smart AI technology to monitor your shakes and screenshots. Once it detects you are screenshotting your second shake or even worse, screenshotting without shaking… it will block your screenshot and it will force you to either:
- do one more shake and screenshot that one
or - continue your screenshot, but with a Fake Shake overlay (see an example below)
At the same time, we are introducing a new hashtag for the CLZ Comics Facebook-group:
#fakeshake
If you see a shakeoftheday and you suspect it is a Fake Shake, comment with #fakeshake, to let the OP know that you are on to them! Or if you are posting a fake shake yourself and want to be completely honest, include the #fakeshake tag yourself.
