What's new in CLZ Comics Mobile? 2017

A new v4.8 update for your app is available now, with:

Automatic CLZ Cloud syncing
Add or edit comics and your changes will auto-upload to the CLZ Cloud instantly.
Made changes on the desktop or Connect side? Just start the app and changes will download automatically.

Note: Auto-Syncing is switched OFF by default. Switch it ON in the “Sync with CLZ Cloud” screen.

Don’t have a CLZ Cloud account yet?
If you don’t have a CLZ Cloud account yet, I strongly recommend signup up for one from the app. Using the CLZ Cloud is completely free!

The CLZ Cloud syncing will let you:

1. Sync your data between devices, e.g. between your phone and your tablet. Or from your old phone to your new phone.
2. View your database online using the free CLZ Cloud viewer website.
3. Make an online backup of your data. Better safe than sorry!

In today’s update for the CLZ Comics app, we have made further tweaks to the Add screen, to make it clearer than previous versions:

• Add from CLZ Core:
  • Color high-lighting: Comics already ‘on wish list’ now have an orange title, comics already “in collection” show up with a blue title.
  • Clearer result entries for Add By Barcode searches, especially in cases of multiple results.

Fixes in this update:

• After restarting the app an empty details template could sometimes show.
• Duplicate comic credits after updating coming from CLZ Core.
• After restarting the app it would sometimes repeatedly scroll to the last added comic.
• Small CLZ Cloud sync tweaks.
• After changing the sort order the list could sometimes scroll to a random position.
• After manually typing a barcode in the add by barcode screen you weren’t able to search another one.
• Sorting not working within a series folder in the main screen.

In today’s update for the CLZ Comics app, we have made further tweaks to the Add screen, to make it clearer and (hopefully) more stable than previous versions:

• Slightly smaller font for the series name, so that longer titles fit better.
• Clearer result entries for Add By Barcode searches, especially in cases of multiple results.

• Some covers (Preview art) weren’t showing in the main screen thumbnail view
• Series have/want header in main list was cut off in certain situations

  • Tap and hold on a comic/series to select it, select as many comics as you like (or select all, using the “Select All” top right).
  • Then use the blue action button to perform an action on the selected comics (Remove / Update from CLZ Core).

• Crash when saving a cover image to the camera roll
• Odd scrolling behavior when expanding/collapsing a series title search result in the Add Automatically screen
• Odd scrolling behavior when scanning comic barcodes in the barcode scanning screen
• Stuck keyboard after searching in main list
• Autocorrect was enabled for the main list search bar

• Series/comic summary showed 0/0 when opening the iPhone app in series thumbnail view mode
• Cover Artist was missing in the Clear/Carbon detail templates
• The on-screen keyboard was covering the lower input fields in the edit/add manually screens

Fixed:

• Empty details template when opening the app after it was killed while on the details screen.
• After updating an issue from CLZ Core, duplicate credits were added.

New:

• Added a new “All Comics” folder with a back button to go back to your folders.

Fixed:

• Added condition field to the old Blue/Black/Comic Blue and White templates.
• Barcode queue was lost when a crash occurred in the Add from CLZ Core screen.
• The move to wish list functionality in the Add from CLZ Core screen was not working at all.

• Missing Have/Wish summary on the top of the comic list when in ‘series’ folder mode on tablet devices.

• Added a new “All Comics” folder with a back button to go back to your folders

• After adding/editing a comic, the app will now always find and show your last added comic in your main screen.
• Main screen will now always remember navigation state, even after device reboot.
• Add auto screen will automatically perform a series search when the add auto screen is opened while a comic series is selected.

• When adding a comic by barcode, the app sometimes gave a false “Already in collection” warning.
• iPhone: After editing a comic, the “Add button” became an “Edit button”.
• iPhone: After editing a comic, the app went back to the list view instead of the details view.

• Add Comics from CLZ Core:
  • Now automatically searches the series you were looking at in your app.
  • New skinned preview templates.
• After adding/editing a comic, the app will now always find and show your last added comic in your main screen.
• If you log in to your CLZ Account on a new or empty device, the app will now ask you if you wish to download your comics from CLZ Cloud.
• Added skinning to Sign up/Log in/In App Purchase screens.

Fixed:

• Some barcode searches could return empty issues upon adding them.
• Reading date was displayed twice in the ‘Clear’ templates.
• After each CLZ Cloud sync the “Quick Search” and “Collection Status Filter” was cleared.
• When a custom cover was downloaded via CLZ Cloud syncing, the thumbnail in the list wasn’t immediately updated.
• When a comic was removed, the list would scroll back to the top.
• Various skinning, layout and color fixes.

• Made some more improvements to the barcode scanner

• The default folder was not set. Now defaults to ‘Series’ folder.

This update to the CLZ Comics app for Android brings user interface improvements to the Add Comics screen:

• All panels are now resizable (list, details, camera)
• When adding a comic that is already on your wish list, the app now lets you change its status to “In Collection”.
• Adding By Barcode:
  • Camera scanner is now integrated in Add screen, not a separate screen
  • Tap the keyboard icon in the camera panel to enter a barcode manually
  • Barcode queue is now remembered between sessions
  • Press and hold to delete a barcode from the queue
• Adding By Title:
  • Expand comic issues list using “V” icons on the right
  • Comic not found? Easy add it manually using the special entry in the results list

New in 4.5.2:

• New Details View templates which are easier on the eye:
  • Clear Light template
  • Clear Dark template

Fixed:

• iPad: WANT-HAVE header was not correctly updated when changing Series folder.
• Improved “tap” area of hamburger menu so you can back out of a folder more easily.

The app looks completely different now, with a cleaner brighter look and an improved user interface.

What’s new in CLZ Comics 4.5 for iOS?

• A completely new look, that is cleaner and brighter.
• The choice between two skins/themes: Light & Dark.
• No bottom toolbar means more screen space for your comic collection.
• Big floating blue ‘+’ button on bottom right for adding new comics.
• Access all other features and tools from ‘hamburger’ menu top left.
• Access all view settings from menu top right.
• Quickly switch between All / In Collection / Wish List at the top.

How to update your CLZ Comics app to version 4.5:

• On your device, open the App Store app.
• On the bottom, switch to the Updates tab.
• Find the CLZ Games entry and tap “UPDATE” on the right.
