Reviews from customers
Music collector has 1,234 CDs (counting box sets as a single CD) and Movie Collector has 1,538 titles
(counting box sets there is 2,230 DVD's in my collection).
Both Collectorz run fine with that many entries.
Apart from the sheer professionalism of the program's design, I find the User Defined fields really useful. I have nearly 700 CDs, and I like to listen to each of them within a reasonable period.
(Otherwise, why keep them?)
To help me with this, I have renamed Album Text1 to "Last played", and Album Text2 to "Times played". Each time I play an album I record the date (e.g. 20090806) and increase "Times played" by one. That way, I can tell which CDs haven't been listened to for a long time by sorting them on the "Last played" column in Album View, and I can tell which ones I have played only once or twice since getting them with the filter "Times Played less than 3".
My family think I'm obsessive. Maybe I am. But it helps me to enjoy my collection!
I wrote and asked two specific questions, and you sent me a response the next morning with exactly the information I needed, neatly organized, and clearly presented. I had no problems at all backing up my stuff, and restoring everything.
You have a Collectorz fan for life! Thanks a million. (And please, I beg you... Teach Microsoft what customer service is supposed to do!)
Again, thanks for your wonderful products, and for your amazing customer service.
So easy to work with and so practical.
What an impressive piece of work!
I've always wanted to catalog all my CD's and tried to create my own database. However, I kept having to add fields and go back to edit every single CD. About 2 years ago, I gave up.
I've only cataloged about 150 in Music Collector, but, it's been a breeze. I know I've yet to discover all the ways it can manipulate the data, but, I'll get there.
I really like that it doesn't eat gobs of memory and there's no 'terminate-stay-ready' embedded in the software and sitting in my systray. (I hate those things.) Simple to use straight-forward software. I'm in heaven.
I believe this is going to save me a great deal of money, as I have a tendency to purchase duplicate CD's because I can't remember if I already own it. The online music retailers are going to be very unhappy and so will my friends, to whom I give all my duplicates.
Now, I can see the light at the end of the CD cataloging tunnel and it's not an oncoming train. I hope you get rich off of this; you deserve it for saving my CD collecting butt!
Thank you !
Your software is amazing.
I have just started exploring it and already I am impressed. As an engineer and programmer, I understand the complexity of good database and user interface design.
WELL DONE !!!
I am looking forward to finding new features as I go further.
Keep up the good work.
