Book Database Software

A blessed weekend. I am truly enjoying this application. It has made such a difference. Every time I work with it adding the tons of books I have I discover "how to" of another feature. I understand better how to categorize my books etc.
I was looking for a free application which I found but it is worth it to upgrade to unlock more features which I am sure I can benefit from.

UPDATE: 11/21/2025 Had an issue with book search and scan . Issue was resolved in a few days. Absolutely love this app. The entire CLZ team are the best. Easy to work with and they listen to dusty.
UPDATE: once again, Alwin and his team provide the best customer service available! I noted an issue and received an immediate (less than 2 minutes!) response. Naturally, he was right and I was wrong, oops. Keep your book collection neat and tidy everywhere you go.
CLZ Books has to be the best app available! The developers spend countless hours upgrading, improving and revising so that the end user experience is fantastic! I can think of no other app that I recommend so vigorously. Been using CLZ Books for two years now and have been pleasantly surprised. Top quality customer service. (This alone grants the developers 5 Stars) Inexpensive compared to other apps. They are continually interested in updating and improving this app for everyone. Easy to use and enter new books. There’s a space for almost everything and the final result will help you keep track of all your times. Many thanks.

The is a great app for book cataloguing with a huge database. Fairly easy to use, especially adding new books/editions.

It's already paid for itself in duplicate books I didn't buy.

I love this app! I was looking for something to track my home book collection. I tried over a dozen and this was by far the winner. Lots of great features, easy to navigate, and best of all the scanner is super fast, and didn’t require tons of adjustments to center or focus. It just works.
Support is fast, friendly, and helpful. As a kid, I dreamed of being a librarian so I guess this app is letting me live my dream.

Yes its expensive but it will have me money in buying repeats. easy to use and if the barcode is missing u can just look it up.

I’ve been testing several apps to catalog my book collection and this one is my favorite. My only grievance is that there’s no way to add translator as a pre-fill field. I have several translations of many of my books, so it’s inconvenient to have to go add the translator in book details retroactively every time.

As an Early Childhood Teacher, it's great for sorting my books by topics with multiple tags.

Really well done app. Very intuitive. Was able to catalog over 300 books in fairly short order. Cloud sync with export capabilities. I would like to see the export categories be selectable in future update releases - that would be a bonus! Recommend to all - young children could help sort the library with this - it is that EZ.

This is an amazing app for tracking a library or adding books. I have a library of 2000 books and it transferred very easily...and I am not too good at that stuff. However, the app has been wonderful for not only me, but my family uses it as well. I had my library uploaded to it in about 25 mins and cleaned up quite a bit. I highly recommend this app. It is very functional!

We’re downsizing and have a lot of books to move on. CLZ Books is really easy to use, especially on books with an ISBN code, which it picks up really easily. Either my partner or I can scan and enter them, syncing through the cloud.
So far, very good!

I have been using CLZ since what seems like infancy days when I had to organize a very very large library of a film director/historian. I have seen CLZ grow like GREAT technology and it’s worth every penny I pay in my low budget to organize the great books

This app delivers everything you could ever need for a book collection.

Running a bookstore on a shoestring, selling thousands of books from my personal collection. Adding new books to the database is simple, even for books without ISBNs. Organizing and planning for space requirements and strategy is available if you want to. When the database was my own books, I didn’t use a lot of the fields, but now I am expanding. Flexibilty is a key strength. And the price!
I have also turned to the vendor for help and advice, and thought the customer service was wonderful. I believe they listen to users when preparing new releases. The on-line manual is better than most I’ve used.
As someone who worked in IT for thirty years, in roles from help desk to network installs, from preparing design to writing code to user implementation, I look at this from several angles, and I think this is a solid app that’s fun to use.

So easy to use and keep me organized.

NC passed law HB805 that requires schools to post searchable catalogs of library books online and allows parents to block their children from borrowing certain titles, beginning with the 2025-26 school year. This app made the process easy & we were able to log over 25,000 books in 4 days thanks to it & wonderful PTA volunteers!
The app is not perfect but it is economical & easy to use. It saved us TONS of time compared to the protocol that the county suggested we use. HIGHLY recommend if you’ve got lots of books to catalog!

There's no other book cataloguing software to compare with the excellent quality and standard of CLZ's. Moreover, the software development team often add enhancements and new additions to the platform (app and web) which are always helpful, and add to the scope of user benefits available: for example, the automated price update for books based on average prices for them in the online marketplace is invaluable for both book buyers and sellers.

1st. it's a great database and it's only gotten better over the years with beautiful synchronicity between your phone and their cloud-based service. I love that it tells you the estimated value of some books, not that we collect for that reason. but it's fun.
2, they have fantastic support, because let's just say, hypothetically. some idiot manages to erase his entire database, they are there with a cheerful and clear solution. I'm so grateful. I mean if that ever happened I would be grateful!

I’ve been using this app for many years now after trying several others, and it does everything says it will plus more. When you add the backup the team gives you, and the value adding updates that roll out, I really can’t speak highly enough of this app.

A very good tool for tracking books. Allows a lot of details to be included, if you care. (For instance, the original title and the translator of a book originally published in another language; or the location of a book in your library.)
Books can be catalogued either by ISBN or by title and author. The ISBN lookup is quite good, and easy to correct or extend.
My wife and I have used it for years, for our 7000-odd book collection, and it’s been a great experience. The developers are also open to suggestions.

I have a personal library and this was perfect for organizing. Although I don't plan on selling my books it is nice to be able to see the values.

I love my CLZ book catalog. I had always wanted to catalog my books and back in the days of card catalogs when I was young, I made an index card file (which I still have). I had far fewer books then. Now I have about 3,000, with book cases in almost every room of our house, and it is hard to keep track of them all in my head. So, one of the practical reasons for having a catalog is to record the location of each book by room and bookcase and in some cases even by shelf. I just have to remember, if I move a book, to change the location in the location field of my catalog. I have been able to locate books with my catalog instead of wasting time searching from room to room.
I have the mobile version as well, for several reasons. Sometimes when I’m in a bookstore, I am not sure whether I already bought a certain book or not; I can tell it is a title I would have liked to own, but I can’t remember if I actually bought it. At least twice I bought a book I already had. Now I can check my mobile catalog. When I finish reading a book, it is quicker to enter that on the “read” field on my phone than to remember to record it next time I am on my catalog on the computer. I can also stand in front of a bookcase with my phone and check whether all the books are cataloged and whether the location is correct.
Beyond practical reasons, I just love having my books organized and cataloged for mental clarity and the pleasure of looking at the titles and covers on the screen. I had once thought of making my own database of my book collection, but it wouldn’t have been nearly as sophisticated as the CLZ one and wouldn’t have included photos of the book covers. Some of my large categories, such as art books, children's books, and Christmas books, have beautiful colorful covers which are a pleasure to look through on the CLZ catalog. I used the genre field to make up my own categories, many of which are not actually genres but the subjects that are important to me. I love that the CLZ software keeps track of the numbers in each category, so for example I know that at the moment I have 184 art and design books, 248 architecture and interiors, 169 autobiography/memoirs, 102 tea books, 213 on England, 206 on New England, 235 children’s books, and 175 Christmas. It’s just interesting to me to know this. It’s a picture of my interests.

So far I have cataloged 2300 of my books. I really enjoy working on the catalog, but it takes time and not all of my books are easily accessible. My method is to scan my new books right away with the app on my phone that CLZ provides, then add them into the collection when I have time to sit at the computer. Then I go to the backlog of older books as I have time and add them in. Some of the oldest ones pre-date the ISBN system and take longer to enter manually. I realize it will take a long time until I am completely caught up, but it’s a goal I’m working towards. I have barely begun to catalog the e-books on my Kindle as that is not as high a priority but will eventually include them as well.
I’ve loved books all my life and also enjoy organizing (probably should have been a librarian), so making a catalog with the CLZ software is a great fit for me.
In the years I’ve been involved with the CLZ catalog, the software has consistently and vastly improved. Many of my books are rather obscure, but more and more of them are recognized in the enormous CLZ database and come in with many of the fields populated and with the cover photo. Previously I had to take my own photos of some of the book covers and upload them, and those photos don’t come out perfectly, but now most of the books come in with the cover when I enter the ISBN or can be found on the “search the internet” feature. More and more information about the books is now included, so that my catalog is an amazing resource.
The CLZ company is extremely responsive when I have contacted them with a question. I don’t know how large or small the company is, but I get a personal response to my emails. I feel confident that they will help me with any catalog questions, and I have a very positive view of the company.

I recommend CLZ Books Web and Mobile to anyone who wants to make a beautiful and useful book catalog. You will be able to sit and scroll through your library and remember books you might not have focused on for some time. You will be able to enjoy looking at the covers of the precious books you have collected and be happy you have them. You will feel organized and be able to locate books in your home. You will have fun with your catalog if you’re anything like me! I even told our local branch librarian about CLZ for his own book collection.

It's my first time truly categorizing my books, and I'm loving the app. It's very easy to use, especially the subject matter categories, and the added feature of being able to add books to be bought or ordered is a great touch.

Now up to 2500 books and counting - a great bit of software backed up by readily accessible support. Congratulations

Great way to keep track of my books!

This app is so feature filled it is just amazing. My husband has a library of 5,000 books we thought we would never catalog and now I have got have of them in my CLZ database already. I have a few minor issues and suggestions which I am going to send to the developer separately, but in general, I love this app.
