Adding by scanning the cover

You can add comics by scanning the cover on the “Cover” tab. Just take a picture of the cover and the app will automagically find the matching comic(s) in our CLZ Core!

Very useful for:

• Comics from the pre-barcode era (before 1976)
• Direct Editions without barcode
• Modern comics without barcode

But of course, the cover scanning works very well on any comic, including ones that do have a barcode!

Add comics by scanning the cover

1. Tap the Add Comics button on the bottom right of the screen:
2. In the Add screen, at the top, choose Cover.
3. Take a picture of your comic and let CLZ Comics scan it.
4. CLZ Comics will show the best match first, tap “Add to Collection” to add it.

If there are multiple similar covers in our CLZ Core, it will show multiple matches.
For example Direct vs Newssstand editions, virgin vs trade-dress covers, etc..
Just tap the one you own to add it to your collection.

*Use this method if your comics are bagged and boarded and the barcode is on the back of the comic. That way, you don’t have to pull the comic out of the bag to scan it

Or pick an existing photo from your camera roll

Already have pictures of your comics?
Tap the gallery icon on the bottom right to select an image from your Camera Roll.

Queue mode

With Queue mode you can scan covers 1 by 1, add them to queue, and later add the entire batch in one go to your collection. It works the same as normal mode, but instead of tapping “Add to Collection”, tap on “+ Queue” bottom left.

1. Scan a cover like you normally would
2. With the right result selected, tap “+ Queue” (bottom left)
3. Scan a couple more covers the same way.
4. After you’ve scanned multiple covers, tap the “Queue” button top right to see the queue.
5. From there you can add them all in 1 go using “Add x to Collection” button.

The add to queue is really quick, no confirmation popups whatsoever, just scan, add to queue, scan, add to queue… Then when done scanning, go to the queue and add all queued issues in one go, going through the Pre-fill screen just once.
