Preparing for import

With Comic Collector you can import a .csv or text list. Comic Collector’s text import is limited to these fields: Series, Issue No., Issue Ext and Publisher. It is not possible to import any additional fields.

* Your text file must contain only these fields, and must also use the same order: Series, Issue No., Issue Ext and Publisher.

1. Create a *.txt or *.csv file with a text editor program such as Notes or TextEdit with all your “to be imported” comics (you can also export to a *.txt or *.csv file from your Spreadsheet program).
2. Save this text or CSV file (with UTF8 encoding).

Importing

Here’s how to import your text / csv file:

1. Start Comic Collector
2. Click: File > Import From > Text
3. Click Browse and locate your txt/csv file
4. Set the text qualifiers and delimiters to match your text file
5. *Check the preview** to ensure everything appears correctly
6. Once complete, click OK to import the list

*If you check the preview and nothing shows, at all, it means your Text or CSV file is not saved with “UTF8” Encoding. Open it with your text editor and re-save it with UTF8 encoding.

Updating your data

After importing you can retrieve more information from the Core for Comics Online Database. Here’s how:

1. Click Edit > Select All
2. Click CLZ Core > Update Comic(s) from Core
3. A message will appear asking you if you’d like to link your comics, click Yes.
4. Comic Collector will now search our online database
5. Results will be shown at the bottom of the screen
6. Select a result form our database then click Update
